Jason Vertrees is President and owner of Applied Environmental and Senior Project Manager. Mr. Vertrees applies his 14 years of environmental consulting experience and technical training to help develop environmental strategies that meet clients’ environmental obligations with consideration of their business objectives. His insight and input enhance the services our technical team provides to clients, including evaluation of contaminated sites, development of assessment strategies, organization of field activities, interpretation of analytical results and evaluation of risk, and development of remedial and closure strategies. Collectively, our personnel have performed thousands of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, hundreds of Phase II Environmental Site Investigations, managed Underground Storage Tank sites; prepared Baseline Environmental Assessments; managed Superfund sites; written due care plans; and developed Environmental Management Programs. His organization has successfully serviced the environmental requirements of private business owners, State of Michigan, Army Corp of Engineers, governmental agencies, national retail developers, industrial corporations, banking organizations, private owners and legal counsel. Key project consist of Project Manager – Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II Investigations, underground storage tank removals, and site remediation. Mr. Vertrees has designed site specific scopes of work in addressing and resolving environmental concerns while managing project personnel and contractors to respond in a timely manner and within budget. Mr. Vertrees was Author and Project Manager for Baseline Environmental Assessments. He was Field Manager for Phase II ESAs and underground storage tank removals. Mr. Vertrees has performed soil characterization and soil and groundwater sampling. He has collected site-specific geologic and hydrogeologic information from published sources and written reports for Phase II ESAs applying ASTM standards and MDEQ guidelines. He was also a Team Member with Kalamazoo River Superfund Site.

Mr. Vertrees holds a B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, Concentration: Resource Ecology and Management from University of Michigan (1996). He was apart of the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Training for Part 201 Cleanup Criteria, MDEQ, September 1998, in East Lansing, MI. He was also part of the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment Training, ASTM, September 1999, Cleveland, Ohio. Mr. Vertrees also completed Phase II Environmental Site Assessment Training, ASTM, April 2000, Washington DC and OSHA, a 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course.
