PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Mr. Meenahan has over 46 years of experience in a wide variety of waste reduction and hazardous waste forensic investigations, as well as financial, environmental, and energy-related projects. He has performed feasibility analyses, engineering design, construction quality assurance, and operator training for the following types of projects: plant utility systems, waste reduction and continuous improvement; soil and groundwater investigations and remediation; wastewater treatment and air abatement; solid waste management; regulatory permitting and reporting; and litigation support. Each year, during the past 15 years, he has developed, continually improved and taught a course in Pollution Prevention at Wayne State University. This course reflects his wide range of industrial experience and procedures developed at General Motors and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. While his clients reduced tons of waste, they also realized rapid paybacks and long term savings. Mr. Meenahan has over eight years of experience in steel industry operations and maintenance. He spent 29 years as a consulting engineer, managing industrial and municipal environmental projects, and 13 years as a manager of process engineers responsible for designing environmental and energy systems.

During his career he has been in responsible charge of design and start-up of 26 wastewater treatment plants; feasibility analysis of 12 solid waste recycling and waste-to-energy facilities; design and start-up of five utility complexes (steam, electricity, cogeneration, compressed air, chilled water); under contract to the U.S. Trade and Development Agency he prepared feasibility analyses in Argentina, Paraguay, Mexico and Senegal.

EDUCATION
Mr. Meenahan holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from University of Detroit (1960). Mr. Meenahan was also part of the Michigan Water Environment Association – 35 year member, past President, and chairperson for several conferences/workshops and seminars. He also worked as a part-time Faculty at Wayne State University, University of Michigan and Michigan State University Extension. Mr. Meenahan instructed Waste Minimization/Pollution Prevention and Introduction to Environmental Engineering classes.
